Mar de Lira Beach

Lira is surrounded by five beautiful small beaches; Mar de Lira, Portocubelo, Tras de Punta, Porto Ancho and Gabota. Costa Meiga favourite one is Mar de Lira, for its facilities; playground, showers, parking, picnic and BBQ area. The water is clear and transparent, the sand is white and fine and another advantage is; it is not normally busy, even during the summer. It is a nice little place to relax and enjoy with the company of a book, your friends or your family. Mar de Lira has been awarded in 2010 with the Blue Flag. Blue Flag is a prestigious, international award scheme which acts as a guarantee to tourists that a beach or marina they are visiting is one of the best in the world. The criteria are base on the environmental education and information given, the water quality, environmental management and the safety and services.
